Water Bottles

Bottled water has become a popular topic for discussion lately due to concerns about the large amount of pollution it causes. It is true that as the consumption of bottled water increases, so does the number of plastic water bottles produced to contain it. The most obvious workarounds are to either boycott bottled water, or simply purchase a reusable water bottle.

Reusable water bottles are becoming quite the hot product. Many manufactures are trying to market their reusable water bottles as the new “cool item” for kids, teenagers, and adults. While using reusable water bottles is a valid measure against pollution, consumers must be careful in their choice of product. Plastic water bottles can be poorly produced and contain harmful chemicals that can actually contaminate the water. One example of this are polycarbonate water bottles (Plastic #7) that were manufactured with Bisphenol A. Bisphenol A is a chemical similar to estrogen and can be quite unhealthy to consume, especially for children and pregnant mothers.

Purchasing a reusable water bottled also allows you to monitor and take control over your daily intake. Many individuals consume inadequate amounts of water each day which can lead to partial dehydration. Water is a huge part of your diet, and is a poor idea to neglect it. When purchasing a reusable water bottle make sure you are receiving the product you are looking for, and make sure it is safe.
